Climate Data Scientist

We have a vacancy for a Climate Data Scientist to support the Climate Services for Agriculture project funded through the Future drought fund and our links with the state governments in this context.

The key skill sets required are:

1. Past experience in dealing with large, gridded climate data e.g., NetCDF , HDF5 files
2. Skill sets in Python (and R) programming and pydata ecosystem, and experience in using Jupyter notebooks
3. Experience working in linux environment and shell scripting

The role is for a 6-month duration on a full-time basis or for a 1-year duration on a part time basis. This role will suit either a highly skilled graduate or a student pursuing masters or is in the final year of their PhD and is looking for a casual or a short-term role. The salary range is between AUD 85 and 105K plus super of up to 10%.
