The Bureau of Meteorology is hosting a charity auction in support of WaterAid – the auction ends Monday 17 September, 12pm

Do you want a piece of Australian weather history? Here is an opportunity to hang Australia’s first synoptic chart in your home or business, as well as contribute to a good cause.

This item is being auctioned on behalf of the Bureau of Meteorology’s Winnovators Team for a Charity Auction in support of WaterAid. ALL proceeds from the sale of this print will be donated to WaterAid. WaterAid Australia is a member of WaterAid, an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.

Description: Framed copy of the first hand drawn synoptic chart of Australia, from the colonial Meteorological service Melbourne office issued at 9 am on Tuesday 10th of June,1890. This is a high-quality copy of the original and is framed. The framed image is accompanied by a letter of authenticity (see images), signed by the Acting Director of the Bureau of Meteorology.
