Call for Nomination - Fellows of AMOS
Mon, Oct 29 2012
Nominations are called for candidates for the position of Fellow of the Society. The status of Fellow is available to a member who has made major contributions to the Society and/or the fields of meteorology or oceanography. It is expected that candidates will meet the following criteria:
• Postgraduate training (diploma, masters, doctorate) in a field related to one or more of the sciences represented by AMOS.
• About ten years post-tertiary experience practising, applying and/or teaching one or more of the sciences represented by AMOS.
• Continuous membership of the Society for a minimum of the past five years.
• A substantial contribution to the work of the Society and/or the disciplines.
Nominations require a proposer and seconder and should be made on the form available on the AMOS website at http://www.amos.org.au/documents/item/22. They may either be initiated by the nominee or by the proposer/seconder (in the latter case, the signature of the nominee may be left blank and will be obtained after the form is lodged).
There is no fixed deadline for Fellows nominations, but nominations to be considered for election at the 2013 AGM should be lodged no later than 30 November, 2012.
