Only approved Fellows may renew their membership as Fellows. Available to an existing member who has approved professional qualifications in meteorology, oceanography or related subjects. The requisite level of qualifications shall be determined by Council and must be approved by a general meeting. To apply for Fellow membership, download the Fellow nomination form, complete and return the form to the administrative officer. Only approved Fellows may renew their membership as Fellows.

A member who has been employed in meteorology or oceanography or an allied field for at least five years, has tertiary level qualifications in meteorology, oceanography or an allied field (e.g. applied maths/physics), and is currently employed (at least 80% of full-time) in meteorology, oceanography or an allied field.

Available to any individual.

Available to any student enrolled at least half-time in an accredited educational institution.

Honours and Post-Grad Students may apply for their first year's membership as complimentary.

Available to any professional member who has retired from full-time employment.

Available to any member who has retired from full-time employment.

Available to any Fellow of the Society who has retired from full-time employment.

A person who has made an outstanding contribution to meteorology or oceanography over a substantial period of years or who has provided exceptional long-term service and support to the Society.
