2009 Priestley Medal Presentation - Hobart

The 2009 AMOS Priestley Medal Presentation will take place on Friday, 12 March 2010, 4:00pm at the CSIRO Auditorium, Castray Esplanade, Hobart.

AMOS President, Professor Neville Nicholls, will present the 2009 Priestley Medal to      Dr Susan Wijffels. Dr Wijffels leads the CSIRO ocean observation research group and is a world authority on the transport of salt and freshwater between oceans by ocean currents, a vital aspect of global ocean circulation and its role in climate.

The AMOS Priestley Medal is awarded biennially for excellence in meteorological or oceanographic research.

AMOS supports and fosters interest in meteorology, oceanography and other related sciences by providing a forum for people with a common interest, and by publishing relevant material. New members are welcome.

5.30 – 7.00 pm - 'Happy hour' drinks and nibbles in CSIRO canteen
