AMOS National Science Week Video Competition – Presenting My Local Weather – Open for Entries

The Australian Meteorological & Oceanographic Society (AMOS) is running a national video competition for primary & secondary students, ‘Presenting My Local Weather’. What’s the weather like where you are, and why does it change? AMOS invites students to explore their local weather and climate, and present it to camera.

We’ve provided the expert advice of working TV weather presenters Nate Byrne (ABC), Jane Bunn (Channel Seven Melbourne) and Ben Domensino (WeatherZone) via an online video and tip sheets. They cover how to read a weather chart, the flow of a weather report and where to find weather information. They also provide tips on how to shoot and edit your own video. Participants film and enter their own weather report (2mins max), and the winning entries in each state and territory win some awesome prizes!

The competition has now been extended and entries will be accepted until 11:00pm, Sunday 2 September. Click here for more details. Good luck!

This Inspiring Australia initiative is supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week.
