Guidelines for presentations
Oral presentations
- Oral presentations will be 15 minutes with 5 minutes for discussion.
- Presentations should be on a USB flash drive. Oral presenters are to attend to their lecture theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the commencement of the session in order for an assistant to download the presentation onto the lecture theatre computer (delegates will not be able to use their own computer). Presenters should check that all aspects of their uploaded presentation work correctly.
- Presentation venues are Manning Clark Centre T1, T2 and T4, and Haydon-Allen G052 (see map). A list of facilities available in these rooms is here. All four venues have a Windows PC. There is also a Macintosh available in MCC T1 and T2 only. The PCs have Powerpoint 2003 (Office Standard 2003), Adobe Reader 8 and QuickTime Player 7.4 installed; the MCC T1 and T2 Macintoshes have Powerpoint 11.5.0 (Office Standard 2004), Adobe Reader 9.0 and QuickTime Player 7.6. A full list of installed software is available here (check the "platform" column) but note that PCs will have Office/Powerpoint 2003, not 2007. Presenters are encouraged to check that their presentation will work with the supplied version of the software they intend to use.
Posters
- Posters may be up to A0 size (841 by 1189 mm), preferably portrait orientation. The presentation area will be available from 8 am on 27th January. Posters may be displayed for the full duration of the conference. Poster presenters will be allocated one of 4 poster presentation times in which they will need to attend their posters.
- Posters should have plenty of Velcro patches for attaching to the posterboards.
- Poster presenters are encouraged to also provide A4 hardcopies of their posters for interested delegates to take.
